Making Local really Local
Home Page

What really happened to shopping local?

Amazing how local is no longer local.

Have you visited www.shoplocal.com lately? What really happened to the local privately owned businesses in the American Communities?  The “Big Box Stores” have the financial ability to wipe out the local merchants and service providers in the small towns of America.  When visiting shoplocal.com majority of the listings are for the “Big Box Stores”, and virtually excludes all of the local stores and service providers.

East Hampton and the surrounding towns have many products and services to offer local residents, such as lumber companies, ice cream shops, frame shops, gift shops, toy shops, hairdressers, real estate agents, consignment, pizza, subs, Chinese food, fireplaces and woodstoves, carpet, coffee, donuts, tea room, farm stands, the list goes on and on, but yet how many of us waste time and money driving out of town to purchase what we have right next door.

Please, stop and think before you make your next purchase and ask yourself, can I buy this locally?

In addition, don’t say that you leave town to make your purchases due to local merchants not offering what you need or are too high priced, tell your local merchant what you need I am sure they will get it for you.

Please visit www.the350project.net to see how you can save your local towns.

Let’s work together and make shop local really shopping local.
